Tree Planting @ Wentworth Lodge

Tree Planting @ Wentworth Lodge

You are cordially invited to join the Greater Hamilton Health Network plant trees at Wentworth Lodge!

Why is the GHHN hosting a tree planting event?

For a variety of amazing reasons! Firstly, we know our partners and their staff have had a wild few years! And we also know that our health and the environment are interconnected and spending time in nature helps restore balance in our energy levels, helps us to get some of that good quality sleep, improves our heart health, reduces anxiety, tension, stress, and pain and so much more! For these reasons, we’re excited to be offering opportunities for our partners and staff to spend some time out in nature fostering camaraderie and connection in a way that supports our social, physical, and mental well-being. Consider this little dose of nature, your Park Prescription!

Secondly, we know that many people face barriers getting outside and reaping the benefits of nature. So let’s bring the forest to Wentworth Lodge’s 160 residents, healthcare providers and staff! We’ve worked with Wentworth Lodge staff and NVK Nurseries to identify the best locations to plant trees directly in sight of residents’ living and common spaces and staff rooms. This will ensure that residents and staff can reap maximum benefit while ensuring the successful growth and future of our trees!

The Details:

  • This event is family-friendly! (Parents/Guardians are responsible for the safety of their children and youth).
  • Please consider the weather and dress appropriately (things to consider brining: water, hats, sunscreen, running shoes).
  • Register here!
